I'm the designer of this hat, so I have some tips for you for the next time. If your yarn is too lightweight for the gauge, try doubling the yarn. You might be able to get the peak to look better if you unbaste it and re-press it, making sure to really tuck that facing under. Also, when you sew the facing down to the inside of the hat, don't bring the thread all the way through to the outside of the hat, just pick up a stitch with your tapestry needle on the inside of the hat, and do it VERY loosly. Sort of basting. Be sure the peak is lying flat, seed-stitch-side up when you do the basting. It should attach right at the ribbing. After knitting about a dozen of these now, I am considering a slight re-write to make the facing even smaller. You picked a complicated pattern for your fist hat! You did a great job.
